Talk Like a Pirate Day came around again and the Roanoke Public Library got in on the fun, hiring us to perform an hour-long show, much to the chagrin of the people looking for a quiet place to read. Roanoke is not very far from our beginnings at Hawkwood back last century, so we felt positively 20 years younger... except for all the aches and pains.

The librarians made sure everyone was fueled up for the shindig.

Only 4 Bilge Pumps were able to make the show. That means that Maroon the Shantyman had to take over guitar duties.

Although Maroon is always on the lookout for someone to play guitar instead of him.

John Crow the Cook gets mauled as everyone tries to find out where all his bells come from.

Splice the Rigger uses Pat Murphy to shield him from Fanny the Flagmaker's chomp chomp chomp on "Rippy the Gator".

John Crow shows exactly where the tears come from in rememberance of good old Pat Murphy.

In case he needed more tears, Splice stuffs a lobster down his pants. Strange things happen during "Drunken Sailor".

The group gathers some dancers with them to do the shanty shake during "Cape Cod Girls".

The band shows the traditional way to end a pirate's career... or a show.
