The pirates were plentiful and the booty was bountiful at the very first Blackbeard's Pirate Festival. Despite the humidity that threatened to drown everyone in the middle of their shows, the fun in the atmosphere was tangible. The Bilge Pumps had a blast performing to fans both old and new and had fun frolicking around with the other performing acts as well. E the Bosun... I mean Blackbeard himself could not have been prouder.

It's the first time ever for The Bilge Pumps to have this lineup, but all that's different is pretty much the same.

It's nighty-night for the 'pumps when the "Mingalay Boat Song" starts droning on.

Kailyn takes his turn in the spitting contest in the pirate olympics. I guess all that practice on "Congo River" came in handy.

It's just pretty friggin strange to see the Bosun standing behind the Bosun on the Wharf Stage.

After much prodding and pleading, Squint the Lookout came back to play the show. As you can tell, he was ecstatic.

It's the Bosun... er... I mean Blackbeard! Is it just me, or does Blackbeard look a little different than his pictures?

Our friends the Dolunay Rose Dancers were at the festival and doing their famous Can Can.

So, of course, The Bilge Pumps have to try it, too. OK, boys, together now... 1.. and a 2... and a...

Ah, the goofy singing pirates are caught in a selfish act of relaxation between shows.

The Dolunay Rose Dancers ditch Don Juan and run to where the true great lovers actually are.

Harvey takes a moment to ponder the direction his acting career has gone as the pirates sing and dance around him.

Ah, if only every show we performed had a front row that looked like this.

Squint does his best scary pirate face for the pirate olympics.

Only at Blackbeard's Pirate Festival could the winner of the olympics be decided by a Rock, Paper, Scissors contest between Maroon and Peregrin of the Corsairs.

Ah, "Old Dun Cow" always provides a wonderful photo opportunity for the audience.

The last huzzah on Sunday had the Dolunay Rose dancers doing their thing and Harvey and the rest of the 'pumps trying to keep up. Sure they look good and all but...

... can they do the Harvey Dance?!?

Our thanks go to Laurel Bryant and John Wilburn for their picture donations.
