Muskogee, OK     May 6 - 21, 2000

The Bilge Pumps played three weekends out at the Oklahoma Renaissance Festival at the Castle in Muskogee. We accomplished quite a lot, wallowed around in the mud on the first weekend, played on 5 different stages, performed 5 shows a day plus pub sing, created all kinds of havok in the lanes, met some wonderful fans, worked with a great bunch of performers, and sweated more than a muskrat in a microwave oven. Can you believe we get paid to do this?

All right, I'll agree, this is just wrong to behold. You gotta love the expressions, though.

It's so nice to see Squint looking so composed while the rest of us thrust about wildly on "Isn't It Grand".

There's the Pirate Queen again, approaching the unsuspecting population with her vicious cuteness.

I dare anyone to pull these fingers. C'mon, give it a try!

Ah, here's one of the times when The Bilge Pumps stormed the Castle and let their voices echo off the walls. Apologies to everyone that was there.

Somebody zoomed in on E. Not that that's hard to do since he takes up a whole lens.

Everywhere we go, we end up behind bars. Feel sorry for the poor patron forced to stay there with us.

Kailyn gets into the lead on "Johnny Jump Up" while Squeegy and Squint provide the rhythm.

Meanwhile, the rest of the group gets into the whole background vocals thing on "Johnny Jump Up".

The Bilge Pumps strike a pose on the bridge in the thieves area. We renamed it Pirate Island.

Kailyn Dammit gets smothered by Violet MacPolk. Wait's where's his hand going? Who's smothering who?

Squint and Squeegy recoil in fear from the possible wrath of a Pirate Queen who got her dress dirty.

The Bilge Pumps pose with a whole passel of fans.

Looks like E and Maroon are doing the calypso thing again.

Uh.... Mmm.... Ahem.... It's kind of hard to explain this pose. har har.

The poses got progressively worse as time went by. As is obvious.

Lorna jumps up in an emergency situation and starts selling CD's and flags. Or is she stealing them? Hmmmm.....

It's the last weekend and it's hot outside, but The Bilge Pumps keep on singin' with panache! Did I spell that right?

Natty Nell the Navigator thinks she can escape the camera by hiding behind that flag, but noooooo.

It's Saturday Morning Fever as Squeegy, Phil, and E strike a disco pose.

Oops! Big mistake. We let Phil get too near The Rogues when they're playing the waltz "Cullen Anderson".

Is it just me, or do these guys really look more like orangutans than they wish?

Ooh! Looks who's turn it is to be the Cabin Boy!

Phil decides it's time to practice a pirate's favorite pastime.

Looks like Phil forgot the words to his verse of "Haul Away Joe" again.

You've done five shows in the heat, plus parade, plus numerous hours of walking around hobnobbing with the patrons. Is the day over? Oh no, you've still got Pub Sing to go.

Honorary Bilge Pumps Natty, Danika, and Siren in the same place? I dare you to refuse buying a CD from this pack of females.

See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil, but if you're near Maroon's coat, you can smell the evil!

Kailyn is going to fly off the stage with those sleeves if he keeps rapping that hard.

Squeegy breaks into his head-banging pirate mode. His guitar starts smoking right after this.

Squeegy must have given himself a headache with all that head-banging. It doesn't work with us, boy. Get back in the barrel!

E silences Squint before he says something really bad, as usual.

Kailyn appears to have started "Johnny Jump Up" on the wrong key again. The rest of us, make sure it doesn't happen again.

The Bilge Pumps pose after our final show with a passel of MacPolk's, tongues hanging out and all.

Someone must must have asked us to do an impersonation of our CD cover. We don't know... really!

Ah, one of our most photographed moments, the pirate rap of "Shiver My Timbers".

Phil does his best Spanish dancer impression while Squeegy makes kissy faces to the big guy in the back row.

E and Squeegy count the seconds until Phil forgets the words to "Shiver My Timbers".

Yes, our secret weapon, the Pirate Queen was back for this faire. Don't ya just lover her?

Shave his WHAT with a rusty razor?

I have no idea what everyone's doing here.

The Bilge Pumps frighten the front row of patrons with their famous groin thrusts in "Isn't It Grand?"

E can only watch in horror as Kailyn and Phil transform into Hans and Franz.

E consoles Phil during the nice lil' weeping portion on "Isn't It Grand?"

Squint takes away Maroon's sword and tries to punch through the invulnerable codpiece.

It's the first weekend! Tulsa is under floods! The faire is nearly empty! What do a bunch of pirates do to pass the time? Sword fight, of course!
