The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Medieval Wine Faire 2012
Jefferson, TX     September 29, 2012
It was like Bilge Pumps gigs of old as the rains fell from the sky in steady buckets and streams and the audience huddled in a tent well away from us in a boozey fog when we visited the Medieval Wine Faire at the KnightLight Theater in historic Jefferson, TX.
We performed a two hour set in the steady rain without our guitar player, Sharkbait, who must actually pay attention to the weather or something. We had a good time singing about the rain, while in the rain, listening to the rain. The downpour might have kept the crowds away, but we made sure that those that did come got their dose of piratical goofiness for the night. Mission accomplished.
The Bilge Pumps take the stage in front a tent full of people that have been drinking all day. Sounds like our target audience.
Apparently, John Crow the Cook got into some of the vineyard stashes
Never let an abundance of wine stop John Crow from getting friendly with the crowd. In fact, it helps quite a bit.
Meanwhile, the rain never stopped during the whole show... and neither did the bad jokes.
If the rain gets you down... all you need is an extended drum solo!
Meanwhile, the soaking wet children try to find one place in the area where they wouldn't have to look at the show.
