Galveston, TX     February 3, 2013

The Bilge Pumps returned with another revival of the church of piracy in February to the "Family Gras" day of Mardi Gras Galveston. That's right... spreading the piratical teaching to the kids! We headlined a family day of perfect weather and fun all around as we got to see some of our super south Texas fans and got to meet hundreds of new ones... including the ones that only came to watch us because we were throwing beads at them. We pulled off a 90 minute set fraught with songs from our new album and punctuated by a couple of parades rumbling past. Just the thing to help us put on a weekend party to remember.

Harvey the Corpsman's pre-show had many less jokes and many more beads for this gig.

Yes, John Crow the Cook will choke that thing right in front of everyone... even on family day!

The large crowd shows up to watch the piratey nonsense on stage. Probably because we're the only act on at the time.

The Bilge Pumps gaze out over Saengerfest Park and begin the show.

Some children are more excited to see pirates singing than others.

Harvey looks for some willing victims to share some pirate fun with on the Bud Light Main Stage.

The band really gets into their music... except for John Crow who's apparently hunting down a goose to choke.

The ghosts of Galvestons past are watching over the band as they prepare to make brand new ghosts in the present.

Splice the Rigger inflates himself in preparating to burst out into a song that could change the world forever. Unfortunately, he for got to exhale and passed out.

Harvey fires off an authentic pirate spray in to the crowd during "Congo River". That's the way you do it. Lure 'em in with beads, then spit all over 'em.
