The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Texas Pirate Festival 2014
Hillsboro, TX     June 7 - 8, 2014
The Bilge Pumps took on Hillsboro and the Texas Pirate Festival and sailed away unscathed. OK, so the bottom of the dinghy is coated in 6 inches of mud, but we consider that to be insulation.
We set up our Pirate Goods and Bait Shop and performed to our largest crowds ever at the festival on Saturday, even though we were missing Splice.
On Sunday, Splice returned just in time to get rained on and watch the festival get "officially" closed to a lack of vendors. Unofficially, however, we took over the Jack Tar Tavern and performed a 2 hour set to any and all participants and patrons who came out once the rains cleared out.
What can we say? The worse, the situation, the more we play!
The Jack Tar Tavern gets all filled up with people looking for entertainment. They got the Bilge Pumps instead.
John Crow the Cook pulls bells out of unmentionable places on his person, much to Harvey the Corpsman's delight.
This time, the audience responds with a chorus of bells on the final chorus!
Sharkbait Simon that Scapegoat appears to not be buying whatever Maroon the Shantyman is selling.
Harvey busts into Haul, Boys, Haul while Maroon gets all bassy on the didjeridu.
John Crow runs out to join the parade as it passes by the Bilge Pumps booth.
The band dreams of cooler Canadian weather performing "Farewell to Nova Scotia".
Ever wonder how Sharkbait can be referred to as the straight man in the band? This is how.
