The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Dickens on the Strand 2017
Galveston, TX     December 1 - 3, 2017
We rolled our land schooners back to Galveston to spread the holiday joy to all, pirate style, with our oh-so-beautiful pirate Christmas carols.
We had more different stages and show times than we ever had before and took the opportunity to lose a few pounds... by chopping off Maroon's ego.
We even had the distinction of being the only show opposite the showing of "Muppet Christmas Carol". Sure, it didn't seem like a distinction at first, but when's the last time YOU drew larger crowds than the Muppets?
Fezziwig's Friday night concert came complete with fake Santas for us to mock relentlessly.
Our schedule for the festival might have been insane, but nothing stops the people from gathering where pirate bands are about to perform.
The Bilge Pumps and The Stilt Lady hang out before the Saturday afternoon parade.
Plugging a hole in our afternoon schedule, the band moves in front of the tall ship Elissa for an afternoon show.
Here's proof that no amount of age, uncomfortable shoes, or bulky dresses will prevent Harvey the Corpman from choosing you do dance with him.
Doing double duty at the Marble Arch stage while decreasing property values all around Mechanic Street.
Galveston parents believe that children's education is best taken care of by listening to what the pirates say.
The band ropes in the out-of-outfit Jack the Rum Runner to play on their latest pirate Christmas carol, "Away in His Quarters"
Sunday morning finds the band once again street side, squeezing one last performance out of Sharkbait Simon the Scapegoat.
The Texas Seaport Museum is no longer safe from pirate attack! (Also, they let us in the gates without a fight)
With Sharkbait gone, Jack is forced to be the cranky dancer who gets to molest Harvey during "The Gun Shanty"
No wonder Harvey is always asking for money from everyone... he EATS the stuff!
