Cotulla, TX     Saturday, Mar 14th

The Bilge Pumps rolled south to Cotulla Texas for the 47th annual LaSalle County Fair & Wild Hog Cook-Off, officially crossing that off our bucket list. We performed two shows for the locals that were all soaked in hog BBQ and beer and had no idea what to make of the fact a bunch of pirates showed up and weren't playing any Skynryd songs. Sure, the theme was Piggies of the Caribbean, but no one was paying attention to that. They were checking out our own Jack the Rum Runner, though, who did double duty with the band and as Capt. Jack Sparrow.

The backlit Bilge Pumps fire off their first show of the weekend to a receptive audience of pig carcases.

Let there be sound echoing through south Texas, that sounds almost like pirates

The humidity makes tuning the stringed instruments a task that occurs every 20 minutes.

Jack lets no man give him a new name. A new woman, though?

The rest of the band contemplates taking an escape vehicle themselves.

Bet you didn't know Captain Jack played guitar, did ya?

Now it's official, we must be on the beach.

Harvey and John Crow lead a conga line once the steel drum sounds out across the pavilion.

Time to celebrate with some succulent swine.
