Grand Prairie, TX     February 4, 2023

After 3 years away due to the pandemic, the best pirate concert in the area was back in 2023, Pirates on the Prairie X. And X marked the spot for all the fun as the Bilge Pumps returned with a gusto, performing one set of traditional shanties and comedy and a second set of cover songs, aided by Maroon's daughter, Black Spot Rose, making her stage debut on the drum kit. It was a night to remember.

Our Emcee Blackbead introduces the Bilge Pumps by recounting stories of their days in college together.

The stage is set and the Bilge Pumps take it... to eBay to resell for a quick buck.

Harvey the Corpsman shows Maroon the Shantyman exactly which finger to use when waving to the harbor patrol.

Splice the Rigger digs around the Captain's no-no chest and comes up with a surprise on Biddy McGrath.

Which leads Jack the Rum Runner to respond with a touch of murder.

But hey, at least he got lunch out of it.

The band expands to fill the stage when the music really kicks in.. or when Maroon farts.

Elizabeth the Stowaway brightens up any song once she picks up her flute.

Gather around children, it's Uncle Maroon's Story Time.

Harvey starts to get the undead twitches during The Night Pat Murphy Died

Splice mistakes Harvey for a werewolf, though, and tries to kill him with a silver bullet.

Even Splice's attempts to kill Harvey with a chainsaw backfire.

Maroon sets the stage for spooky shenanigans. Then he sings and fulfills his promise.

Maroon tries to keep the band in rhythm. Like herding a herd of cats herding cats.

The band debuts Ned's Chanty to the concert-goers, in front of people who've played the song professionally. No pressure.

Elizabeth and Jack hold down the string side of things.

Harvey and Maroon break into a waltz.

Maroon shows off the stunt guitar smashed during the show, which was given away to a "lucky" winner.

Natty Nell the Navigator and Fanny the Flagmaker man the booth during the intermission to festoon the concert go-ers with great goods.

It's time for set 2, a.k.a. the rock set, so we have to bring on the special effects.

More importantly, Maroon's daughter, Black Spot Rose joins the band on the drum kit.

Jack and Maroon get to jamming during Yo Ho

Elizabeth and Splice get in on the rock action as well.
