The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Texas Pirate Festival 2012
Hillsboro, TX     June 2 - 3, 2012
The festival moved to the first weekend of June in 2012 to not conflict with Scarborough and it resulted in a festival with more people than it's ever had. We performed to lots of new faces and lots of familiar ones as well and had the added advantage of doing our shows in the Jack Tar Tavern in the shade when not hawking our wares from our booth.
We even had one of our largest crowds ever for a No Request Show on Sunday morning. We almost felt guilty for still performing it as normal, but our pirate blood wouldn't let us quite get there. Whaddya want? We're only inhuman, after all.
The Bilge Pumps Pirate Goods and Bait Shop is set up for business in the hottest field in Texas
And, as you can see, business is booming
John Crow the Cook leans in hard to try and pick up some rhythm... or a key... or something else useful.
Admiral Tod gets recruited to be the dead man during "The Night Pat Murphy Died".
So, that means he has to die. Nothing personal, it's just showbusiness.
This is what happens to children of pirates when the pirates go to sleep in their shop. They run off to become dancers.
John Crow decides to compare the size of his dinghy to everyone else on "Strike the Bell"
Harvey the Corpsman gets in touch with the pirate spirit above... inside that keg of rum
Sadly, this is what the show devolves into when all the entertainment value has been used up.
Our thanks go to Tod Stephenson for his donated pictures
