The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Pirates of the Caribbean Movie Watching Party 2006
Bedford, TX     July 9 & 16, 2006
Anticipating the wave of pirate-mania we knew was going to sweep the country with the return of the imfamous Capt. Jack, we rented out a theater at the Movie Tavern in Bedford, TX to hold our first ever Pirate Movie Watching Party! The fun consisted of a 30 minute Bilge Pumps show followed by an exclusive screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. We ended up (through vigorous internet marketing) selling out the complex's largest theater on the Thursday before the showing. Then, on the following Friday morning, the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram and the KLUV radio morning show gave us great mentions on their things-to-do list for the weekend. The interest was so great that we did a second party the following weekend. All in all, everyone had fun and we got to perform in front of a bunch of new fans (and some old ones we haven't seen in years).
Some of the early arrivals check in with Natty and Fanny for our first ever movie watching party.
The line forms as people wait around patiently (or impatiently) for seating to begin.
There were quite a few fans that made the trip down from Oklahoma to visit. The farthest driver came from Kansas!
It was nice of Capt. Jack and Elizabeth to come and see the show.
If you're going to come to a pirate show, you gotta make sure your booty is covered or Galleon will come swooping in.
The pirate women were rolling in to play as well. We're always glad to see that.
John Crow awaits those who dared buy tickets to the show. Oh well, at least he'll be carrying your heavy stuff.
Maroon checks the list before the band goes on to make sure that all of the seats really are taken... yup, they are.
Yep, this is definitely something to call home about.
Now that they're finally allowed in to get their seats, the fun begins with listening to the band's sound checks.
Luckily for Garnett the mermaid, she has water in her ears, so she's spared the horror of actually listening to the band.
John Crow keeps a close eye on co-workers of Maroon's who came to see the band for the first time.
It was a sold out show, so everyone, even the guys, was forced to sit close to each other. It's OK, to act a little gay... you're pirates!
After all the seating and jockeying and waiting around, finally, the Bilge Pumps hit the stage.
