The Bilge Pumps - Past Landings: Louisiana Renaissance Festival 2012

Hammond, LA November 3 - 11, 2012

The Bilge Pumps made good on our return to da bayou for our 11th visit to the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. We not only did 2 shows/day on the Kings Stage, but we returned to do one show/day in the Painted Badger Pub for the first time in 3 years. We like that place and liked it when it was at Hawkwood 11 years ago as well. The weather didn't cooperate much on the first weekend as some rainy skies kept away the non-diehards, but the rest of the time, the weather was perfect, the people were great, and the audience was buzzed. Could have been from the beer or from our show. Doesn't really matter. All in all, a good time was had and we look forward to doing it again next year.

The Bilge Pumps are back in Lousiana and they invite everyone into a mighty group hug.	Maroon the Shantyman whips out his didjeridu on "Haul Boys Haul" so Harvey the Corpsman can get that tingle whilst he sings.	Sharkbait Simon the Scapegoat point out to the audience which member of the band wears sofa material.
The band slows it down a bit with a new serious-minded song called "The Mermaid".	Must have been a success as they scored a gooooooaaaaaaal!	Harvey pulls up a wall of beef to help him get his dance on during "Cape Cod Girls".
Ah... the pre-show entertainment. Consisting of systematically wrecking a drum head and a pair of mallets.	Maroon and Sharkbait show what it's like when someone breaks the wind on stage... no names... (ahem) Splice the Rigger	Harvey and Sharkbait go all gangnam style during their dance number on "Johnny Jump Up".
