New Orleans, LA     February 4 - 8, 2005

The Bilge Pumps finally got to play the real Mardi Gras in New Orleans as we rolled back to the French Quarter for 5 nights at O'Flaherty's Irish Pub to play for all those looking to shed their inhibitions (and tops) before lent. Despite illness and loss of voices, especially to Maroon, a fun time was had by everyone and we managed to prevent the ghosts that lurk at the pub from carrying Galleon away as he slept.

True words

You really should pay attention to the warning signs posted around the French Quarter.

You want beads for that?!?

Blue the Lookout exposes himself to the balconies to get a necklace of beads.

And then the Lord said I am Sam

Harvey the Corpman is in his element as he challenges the local Christian Groups on their knowledge of Theology.

Bruised peaches

Phil McGroin runs afoul of the law and is forced to take his punishment like a real pirate. Makes you want to break the law, eh?

To protect and serve

We ran into one of our waitresses from O'Flaherty's working one of her other 2 jobs and decided to make her life more miserable.

Told you about those signs

Oh yeah, O'Flaherty's... whose sign looks something like this.

Never go up a pirate's alley

Harvey and John pause for a moment in Pirate's Alley and take in the smells.

More pirates, pirates, pirates.

One more stop in front of Laffitte's Blacksmith Shop and we're done rubbing our pirate funk all over the city.

Have you seen this boy?

Blue tries unsuccessfully to roust up a crowd from the street for our shows.

Pirates.. five times a night!

Yes, yes. The Bilge Pumps did actually have shows at Mardi Gras.

I smoke a joint in the morning...

Harvey gets back in touch with his Rastafarian roots the closer to Jamaica he gets.

Club him like a baby seal

E begins clubbing the members of crowd with his didjeridu if they aren't good enough at limbo to dodge it.

Yay, boobies!

Much to the delight of the nearby pirates, the topless women did make an appearance at the shows.

Now that's a canvas for our masterpiece

We've been known to leave our mark nearby boobage as well. Expose yourself at your own risk.
