This very old windlass shanty was originally sung not about General Santa Anna, as it was adopted to later after the Mexican-American war, but about Sainte Anne, the patron saint of Breton seamen. The counterpoint to the Santa Anna version can be heard in the shanty "General Taylor".

Recorded on August 10, 2002 at the Queen Mariah riverboat in Ft. Worth, TX, this track was considered for inclusion on the Brigands with Big'uns album, but didn't make it due to space considerations.

Lead Vocals: Craig Lutke
